Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("Customer," "you," or "your") and the operator of 48HourResume ("48HourResume," "we," "us," or "our"). By visiting this website, submitting our intake questionnaire, completing checkout, communicating with us about an order, or using any deliverable we provide, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and to our refund policy summarized below and on the home page. If you do not agree, do not place an order and do not use the deliverables.

2. Description of Services

48HourResume provides professional writing, editing, formatting, and consulting services related to resumes, curricula vitae, cover letters, LinkedIn profile content, and related career documents (collectively, the "Services"). Specific deliverables depend on the package you purchase (for example: Resume Audit, Resume Rewrite, Full Application Kit, or any add-ons), and are described on the home page at the time of purchase. The Services result only in written documents and written feedback. The Services do not include legal advice, immigration advice, tax advice, financial advice, employment placement, recruiting, headhunting, job applications submitted on your behalf, interview scheduling, salary negotiation on your behalf, or background-check assistance, unless we expressly agree to that in writing.

The Full Application Kit, and only the Full Application Kit, also includes two additional written deliverables: (a) an ATS Fit Scorecard, a one-page editorial grade card comparing your finished resume to your stated target role across six dimensions; and (b) an Interview Story Bank, five written STAR + Reflection format interview stories drafted from the work history you submit. Both of these deliverables are editorial and preparation aids only. They are not assessments of any specific employer’s applicant-tracking system, are not psychometric or diagnostic instruments, do not predict any score from any third-party ATS, do not predict any interview question you will actually be asked, and do not guarantee any interview, callback, offer, or hiring outcome. The disclaimers in Section 3, Section 14, and Section 15 apply in full to these deliverables.

3. No Guarantee of Employment or Outcomes

You acknowledge that career outcomes depend on many factors that we cannot control, including but not limited to: your work history, education, skills, certifications, references, interview performance, geographic location, target industry, target seniority level, the labor market, the volume and quality of applications you submit, employer hiring needs and timing, recruiter preferences, third-party application tracking systems and their configurations, networking, timing, and individual decisions of hiring teams.

Any timeframes, benchmarks, success stories, testimonials, or examples shown on the website are illustrative only and are not representations or warranties about the result you will achieve. Your individual results will vary.

4. AI-Assisted Production Disclosure

Our production workflow is AI-accelerated and human-reviewed. We use modern artificial-intelligence language tools to draft, optimize, format, and quality-check the documents we deliver, and a human reviewer checks every deliverable before it is sent to you. By placing an order, you acknowledge and consent to the use of AI tools in the preparation of your deliverables. We do not represent that any deliverable is fully human-authored or fully AI-authored, and we make no warranty that the deliverable will be detected as either by third-party AI-detection tools, which we consider unreliable.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Services. By placing an order, you represent and warrant that this is true and that all information you provide to us is accurate and your own.

6. Orders, Payment & Pricing

• Prices, package descriptions, add-ons, and rush fees are shown on the home page at the time of purchase and may change at any time. The price displayed when you complete checkout is the price that applies to that order.
• Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full payment card information. Your use of Stripe is governed by Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy.
• All orders are one-time purchases. We do not run subscriptions, recurring charges, "trial" auto-renewals, or saved-card auto-billing.
• Card statement descriptors may appear as "48HourResume" or a similar short identifier set in Stripe.
• Taxes, currency conversion fees, and bank fees, if any, are your responsibility.
• An order is accepted by us only once payment has cleared and the intake questionnaire has been received. We may, in our sole discretion, decline or refund an order if the requested work is outside our scope, appears fraudulent, violates these Terms, or for any other lawful reason.

7. Turnaround Times

Stated turnaround times, including references such as "usually within 48 hours," "about 48 hours," or similar language, are good-faith estimates and operational targets measured from the moment we have both (a) cleared payment and (b) a complete intake questionnaire with usable source material. They are not guaranteed delivery deadlines, warranties, or promises that a deliverable will arrive by a specific date or time.

Turnaround does not start, or is paused, while we are waiting for information from you, while files are missing or unreadable, while the requested scope changes, during weekends or U.S. federal holidays if applicable to a given package, during unusually high order volume, during technical issues, during force majeure events, or while an order is on hold due to a Stripe risk review or dispute. Some orders may take more than 48 hours depending on these or other variable circumstances. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to deliver promptly and communicate about material delays, but turnaround targets are not warranties.

8. Customer Information & Obligations

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate, complete, lawful, and current information about your work history, education, certifications, skills, dates, employers, titles, and any other content used in your deliverables.
• Not submitting content that is false, misleading, fraudulent, defamatory, plagiarized, confidential to a third party without authorization, subject to a non-disclosure agreement that prohibits sharing, or that infringes any third party’s intellectual-property, privacy, or contractual rights.
• Reviewing the deliverable for factual accuracy before using it. Final responsibility for the truth of every statement in any document delivered to you is yours.
• Complying with all laws and any employer, school, or platform rules that apply to how you present yourself or apply for opportunities.

You represent and warrant that all information you submit to us is yours to share, is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that we may use it to produce your deliverables.

9. Revisions & Refunds

Each paid package includes one (1) free revision round, requested within thirty (30) days of delivery. Revisions cover correcting errors we made, missing items promised in your package, or reasonable changes that do not amount to a new target role, a new industry, a new seniority level, or a new document outside the package scope. Additional revisions, scope changes, or new documents will be quoted before any extra work begins.

You may request a refund within thirty (30) days of delivery by emailing 48hourresume@protonmail.com. Refunds are reviewed on a good-faith case-by-case basis and are generally issued when we did not deliver the package as described. Refunds are not issued for: dissatisfaction with hiring outcomes (we do not guarantee outcomes); changes of mind about the target role after delivery; failure to provide source information needed to complete the work; or work already delivered and used. Approved refunds are processed through Stripe to the original payment method. We ask that you contact us first before filing a chargeback so we can resolve the issue directly; chargebacks may take longer and may result in suspension of further service.

10. Intellectual Property & License

Once your order is paid in full and any chargeback or dispute period has cleared, we assign to you all transferable rights in the specific, customized deliverables we prepared for you (your finished resume text, your tailored cover letter, your LinkedIn About/Headline text), so you can use them for your personal job search and career. You may copy, modify, and distribute those deliverables for your own job-search purposes.

We retain ownership of, and you receive no rights in: our website, our brand, our trademarks, our templates, our underlying writing frameworks, our intake questionnaire, our internal prompts, our editorial style guides, our checklists, our anonymized samples, and any other materials that exist independently of your specific deliverable. We may anonymize and aggregate information from orders to improve our Services.

You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, copy, transmit, display, and process the materials you submit (your draft resume, work history, LinkedIn URL, job descriptions, etc.) solely for the purpose of providing the Services and supporting your order.

11. Third-Party Tools, ATS & Job Platforms

Our deliverables are designed to follow widely accepted best practices for applicant-tracking systems (ATS) such as Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Taleo, and iCIMS, but these platforms are operated by independent third parties, are frequently updated, and behave differently across employer configurations. We do not control any ATS, any job board, any social platform (including LinkedIn), or any employer’s internal tooling, and we cannot warrant any specific score, parsing result, ranking, visibility, or compatibility with any third-party system. Third-party platforms may also enforce their own terms, including limits on AI-generated content; you are responsible for complying with the rules of any platform you choose to use a deliverable on.

12. Acceptable Use

You agree not to (and not to help anyone else) use our website or Services to:

• Misrepresent your identity, credentials, employment, education, citizenship, or work authorization.
• Submit information that you do not have the right to share.
• Violate any law, regulation, contract, or third-party right.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, resell, sublicense, or redistribute our templates, prompts, frameworks, or website content outside the limited license described above.
• Attempt to disrupt, attack, or gain unauthorized access to our website, our forms processor, our payment processor, or our email systems.
• Use the Services to harass, defame, or harm any person.

13. Privacy & Data Handling

We collect only the information needed to fulfill your order: name, contact information, payment confirmation from Stripe, your resume/work-history files or document links, target-role information, and any add-on details you submit. We use third-party processors including Stripe (payments), Basin (form intake), and Proton Mail (correspondence). We do not sell personal information. We retain order records for a reasonable period to honor the 30-day revision and refund window, to respond to disputes, and to comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Email 48hourresume@protonmail.com to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information, subject to records we are required or permitted to keep by law.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The website and the services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 48HourResume disclaims all warranties, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the website or the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, free of viruses or harmful code, or that any specific result, response, interview, offer, hire, raise, or other career outcome will be achieved.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall 48HourResume, its owner(s), members, employees, contractors, writers, reviewers, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable to you or any third party for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including, without limitation, damages for lost profits, lost wages, lost salary, lost bonuses, lost commissions, lost benefits, lost opportunities, lost employment, lost promotions, lost goodwill, lost data, lost reputation, business interruption, emotional distress, or any other intangible loss arising out of or relating to your use of the website, the services, or any deliverable, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In all events, our total cumulative liability to you arising out of or relating to the website, the services, the deliverables, or these terms, whether in contract, tort, strict liability, statute, or otherwise, shall not exceed the total amount you actually paid to 48HourResume for the specific order giving rise to the claim during the three (3) months immediately preceding the event that gave rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of these limitations may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

16. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless 48HourResume, its owner(s), members, employees, contractors, writers, reviewers, agents, suppliers, and affiliates from and against any and all third-party claims, demands, investigations, losses, damages, fines, penalties, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) information you submitted to us, including any inaccuracy, misrepresentation, omission, plagiarism, or violation of a third party’s rights or any non-disclosure obligation; (b) your use of any deliverable, including how you used it on any application, platform, or in any communication with a prospective employer; (c) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law; or (d) any dispute between you and a current, former, or prospective employer, recruiter, school, licensing body, or platform.

17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the website, the Services, or the deliverables are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Subject to the binding-arbitration section below, you and 48HourResume each consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in the State of Florida for any matter not subject to arbitration, and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum.

18. Binding Arbitration & Class-Action Waiver

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services that cannot be resolved by good-faith negotiation within sixty (60) days of written notice shall be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by a reputable arbitration provider (for example, the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules) seated in Florida, USA, conducted in English. The arbitrator’s decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.

You and 48HourResume each agree that disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis. You and we waive the right to bring or participate in any class action, collective action, consolidated action, or representative action against the other. The arbitrator has no authority to consolidate claims or preside over any class or representative proceeding.

Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property, confidentiality, or these Terms.

19. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the website or the Services, refund unfulfilled orders, and refuse future orders at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, submitted false or fraudulent information, abused our staff, attempted a chargeback in bad faith, or otherwise misused the Services. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, arbitration, and miscellaneous) will survive.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted at this URL on the date you place an order governs that order. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or Services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

21. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the refund policy and order details shown at checkout, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services and supersede all prior agreements.
• Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
• No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
• Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
• Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delay or failure to perform due to causes beyond reasonable control, including acts of God, internet or platform outages, third-party service failures, labor disruptions, government action, illness, or natural disasters.
• Independent contractor. Nothing in these Terms creates an agency, partnership, joint venture, employment, or franchise relationship between you and 48HourResume.
• Notices. Notices to us must be sent to 48hourresume@protonmail.com. Notices to you may be sent to the email address associated with your order.
• Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
• No legal/career-outcome advice. Content on the website and in deliverables is for general informational and professional-presentation purposes only and does not constitute legal, immigration, tax, financial, or guaranteed-career-outcome advice.
